This ballet, presented by "Musique d'Images",
was created in world premiere at the fifthiest Avignon Festival in
July 1996.
It was then presented in December 1996 at the Avignon Opera where this video tape was
realized.
This spectacle is exceptional for three main reasons:
- the totality of the scenography (music, images, choreography) has been built in total
coherence around the olfactory score retracing the history of Perfume since
its origins,
- the diffusion of the five natural olfactory ambiances among
the public in open-air could be realized only thanks to an all
new technology of large-scale scent diffusion, allowing as such, a
quasi-instantaneous succession of fragrant sequences.
- The entire six hundred images projected on the panoramic nine-meter screen were
beforehand digitalized to be assembled later on a computer and
then sequenced, superimposed and animated in the form of great frescoes.
